Our Mission

Mission Statement

The mission of Lantern Light Camps is to provide age-appropriate year-round outdoor adventure experiences for children, young adults, and their families. We do this by providing facilities, counselors and programs that gives space for kids to pursue their own curiosity, develop critical thinking skills and engage in imaginative playtime activities.

Why?

To provide support to children and young adults living in a changing world. In the early 2010s, the way we raised children began to change. Childhood became increasingly phone/screen based.

Lantern Light Camps exists to give kids the opportunity for a play-based childhood through outdoor activities and peer interactions.

Choosing Lantern Light Camps

Lantern Light Camps addresses urgent needs for children and young adults by providing immersive, outdoor, peer-shared programs that create positive results in social-emotional skills and improve physical health and mental well-being.

Our programs connect young people to the outdoors and to each other. We spark curiosity, develop problem solving skills, and nurture social development.

The Camp

Lantern Light Camps develops and maintains the Wah-Tut-Ca Reservation on Northwood Lake in Northwood, NH. We make this facility available to children and their families, as well as outside youth-serving agencies that share our mission of getting kids outdoors and active.

The camp is over 300 acres of a bio-diverse environment used to encourage appreciation for the real world. On the reservation is a community that provides children with a staff of caring adults who promote self-respect and appreciation for human value.
